Breeding wheat for heat tolerance

Temperatures in western New South Wales were 38 degrees during the wheat harvest, dropping to 40 degrees in January. Although somewhat hardy and heat-tolerant, any impact on yields is costly for farmers. Rebecca Thistlethwaite describes her work to develop varieties that can withstand heat while maintaining yield.
