Celtics ground wing and center depth in new massive multi-team trade proposal

Celtics ground wing and center depth in new massive multi-team trade proposal

The Boston Celtics likely won’t have to make many deals at the upcoming trade deadline, if any at all. Boston are the defending NBA champions and looked like the best team to open the new season.

The Celtics have a strong core and picked up where they left off last year. They are the favorites to become champions, but they could probably do with a little extra firepower.

Boston has a target, the defending champions, and every team will want to upset them. If the Celtics decide not to make any additions, they will likely be fine.

But if the front office wants to mix things up a little, their options are limited. Due to salary restrictions, Boston can only make certain trades.

In a new multi-team trade proposal, Boston still makes the deal and adds additional wing depth to the rotation. The Celtics also acquired another big man who will also help bolster the front court.

Celtics get: Forward Torrey Craig and center Day’Ron Sharpe

Networks receive: Guard Lonzo Ball, guard Jalen Springer and a 2029 first-round draft pick from the Bulls.

Bulls receive: Guard Cam Thomas and the Celtics’ 2026 draft pick

The Nets will send Ball on a salary waiver from Chicago, giving them more cap space for the summer. They also receive a first-round pick for Thomas’ services.

Chicago is getting a promising star guard to help them rebuild. They also get an additional second-rounder from Boston.

As for the Celtics, they are adding more depth in many areas of their roster. Craig gives them an experienced forward who can defend well and shoot three-pointers.

The veteran has struggled with his shot so far this year, but he shot 39.2 percent from deep last season for Chicago. Craig could provide some insurance on the wing, giving Boston more firepower.

As for Sharpe, he could serve as a backup center. We all saw Al Horford’s decline in the postseason last year, and Boston is one Kristaps Porzingis injury away from Horford being the main big man again.

Sharpe could provide some insurance deep in the frontcourt. He averaged 6.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game last season.

If anything, this deal simply gives the team more depth and could help them in their quest to become champions again.
