Trump voters will regret it

Donald Trump often read Oscar Brown Jr.’s poem “The Snake” at his rallies.

It tells the story of a caring woman who sees a “poor half-frozen snake”, takes it home and nurses it back to health, only for it to bite her with a venomous one. When she screams, asking why the snake did this, since she would surely die, the snake replies that she knew he was a snake when she took him in.

It doesn’t take much imagination to realize that Trump is that snake. Now he has been caught and is in the process of “biting” us by appointing like-minded personal supporters who will implement Project 2025 to destroy our democracy and damage our country.

Trump voters, especially those who attended those rallies and laughed when he read that poem, are responsible for allowing this viper to rise to power. I understand that there are some who are beginning to realize the mistake they made.

Buyers’ remorse won’t fix this. All that can be said is that you knew he was a snake even before you took him in.
