Man shot in dispute over loud music, wife says

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WFOR) — A man is dead and another was arrested after his wife said he was shot during an argument over loud music in Florida on Thanksgiving Day.

Rose McLean is in agony after her 72-year-old husband Hurelion McLean was shot dead outside their apartment.

According to her, this happened after a minor quarrel with a neighbor.

“He was playing his music today and this guy said he was playing too loud, so my husband went to see him,” Rose McLean said.

Rose McLean said moments later she heard the fatal gunshot.

“I was inside getting changed and I heard a gunshot, boom, so I ran outside because I know my husband went outside,” she said. “That’s when I went outside and saw him on the floor.”

She said the man with the gun threatened her as well.

“He was very aggressive because I asked, ‘Why did you shoot my husband?’ Rose McLean said. “He told me to shut up and shoot me too.”

During an evening prayer vigil, the family’s pastor tried to comfort them.

On this day it is difficult to thank and congratulate the family.

“Today is an unusually crazy day. It’s crazy how humanity has gotten to this point where we don’t honor life the way we should,” said Pastor Tracy McCloud.
