Strictly Come Dancing’s Gorka will replace Carlos in the Christmas special

A Strictly Come Dancing spokesman said: “Unfortunately, professional dancer Carlos Goo has suffered an ankle injury and is unable to compete in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special with contestant Vogue Williams.

“Professional dancer friend Gorka Marquez will replace him and dance with Vogue. We all wish him a speedy recovery.”

This year, Gorka was paired with Poonam Krishan. Dancing under strict arrivalhowever, after Halloween Week, the couple was eliminated from the competition.

However, this year Carlos did not have a star partner, but he was entertain the public from Clauditorium.

Vogue is the third celebrity to be announced as part of this year’s Christmas edition. Josh WiddicombeTheis, Harry Akins-Arity, Tamzin Outhwaite and Billy Monger.

“I’m so excited to be joining the Strictly family!” she said. “Carlos would have a better chance of winning the Nobel Prize than turning me into a good dancer, but I am determined to give it my best shot!

“As long as I like it, bring the ballroom.”

Williams is best known for her work in television, appearing in various documentaries, studio shows and her own reality show. She also presents fashion and red carpet segments on ITV’s Lorraine.

The 39-year-old has also launched a number of her own podcasts, including Spencer and Vogue, which she co-hosts with husband and former Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews.

The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special will air on BBC One and iPlayer on Christmas Day.
